Research Unit 1

Inclusive Education Research Unit

This unit is established to address the growing need for inclusive practices in education. It brings together scholars, practitioners, and advocates who are committed to promoting equitable learning opportunities for all students, including those with diverse abilities and backgrounds. By integrating research, advocacy, and capacity-building activities, this unit serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovation in inclusive education.

Research Unit 2

Literacy and Digital Storytelling Research Unit

The landscape of literacy has evolved beyond the traditional printed word, now encompassing a complex world of digital narratives and information. The unit is grounded in the belief that children’s literature serves as a powerful vehicle for building empathy and critical thinking. By combining traditional literacy studies with an exploration of new media and storytelling technologies, the unit aims to empower educators and caregivers to cultivate a community of critical readers and storytellers for the 21st century.

Research Unit 3

Educational Assessment Research Unit

One of the three pillars of effective student learning is assessment. Beyond simply assigning grades, assessment serves to measure student progress, evaluate the effectiveness of teaching, and inform continuous improvement. The Educational Assessment Research Unit is dedicated to advancing this mission through research and training in psychometrics, research methodology, and educational statistics. Our goal is to promote assessment practices that are fair, meaningful, and efficient.

Research Unit 4

STEAM Research Unit

Despite being well known with its technical innovations, STEAM has transformative potential that goes beyond laboratories and design studies. Within the context of social humanities, STEAM provides powerful tools to explore and address complex human challenges ranging from cultural preservation, ethical technology use to inclusive education. The unit for STEAM integration in social humanities is established to bridge the gap between scientific-technological innovation and human-centered perspectives.

Education is a critical driver in fostering individual and societal development. In an epoch of accelerated globalization, intricate socio-political dynamics, and exponential technological progress, the imperative for empirically grounded educational policies is paramount. This unit is established as a specialized entity dedicated to methodologically rigorous, societally pertinent, evidence-validated, and ethically principled research endeavors.

Islamic education plays a central role in shaping the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of individuals and communities. In the rapidly changing global landscape, Islamic educational institutions face new challenges and opportunities: integrating modern pedagogical approaches with classical Islamic scholarship, addressing contemporary social issues through Islamic values, and preparing learners to be both globally competent and firmly rooted in their faith.

EmpathetiX Research Unit

EmpathetiX is the first interdisciplinary locus for state-of-the-art empathy science in Indonesia. This unit is dedicated to shaping a more humane world and focusing on cultivating a generation of compassionate, ethical, and socially responsible leaders who promote justice, peace, and wellbeing across diverse cultural and religious contexts. EmpathetiX will establish as a leading hub for empathy research and innovation for the challenges of 21st-century digital world.
