About Lecturer

Prof. Zuhdi is a Professor of Education, Faculty of Education, State Islamic University (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. He was graduated from the Faculty of Tarbiya (Education) of IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. Then, he continued his study at the School of Education of the University of New South Wales and receive an M. Ed. degree. He completed his Ph.D. at the Faculty of Education, McGill University, Canada. In addition to teaching at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, he has also served in a number of positions, including the Director of Education and Research of Jalan Sesama (Sesame Street Indonesia) 2006 – 2012; The Editor in Chief of Tarbiya Journal;  a Member of the Technical Advisory Committee of “Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and A Culture of Peace in Southeast Asia through Shared Histories” Project in UNESCO Bangkok Office; a Visiting Research Fellow at the Victoria University of Wellington; a Visiting Professor at Agder University, Norway; a Visiting Professor at UIN Raden Fatah Palembang;  A Member of the Advisory Team of PKDP Program (Competency Strengthening for New Recruited Lecturers), The Ministry of Religious Affairs. His publication includes: ‘Constructing the Concept of Student Well-Being within Indonesian Islamic Higher Education,’ in Religions 14: 1140, 2023, ‘Promoting Religious Literacy through Education in the Multi-culture Indonesia’, in Journal of Public Value, Volume 4, 2022,  Recalibrating تَرْبِيَة  (tarbiya) and social justice in the face of internationalisation.
