Guest Lecture: Educational Leadership: An Islamic Perspective

Islamic educational leadership emphasizes fostering a holistic approach to education, combining religious teachings with academic excellence. Leaders prioritize the development of moral character, ethical values, and a strong sense of community. They inspire a love for learning and instill a sense of responsibility towards society. Islamic educational leaders guide students to integrate Islamic principles into their academic pursuits, encouraging critical thinking and a deep understanding of the Quran and Sunnah. This leadership style aims to nurture individuals who contribute positively to both the Muslim community and the broader world, fostering a balance between spiritual and intellectual growth. In this session Dr Ahmed Mohammed from The Maldives National University, who also contribute a chapter “Understanding School Leadership Practices in the Maldives” in the book, Educational Leadership and Asian Culture, Culturally Sensitive Leadership Practice explain the conceptual and empirical research about Islamic educational leadership.
