Lunch Talk

Education Students Association (ESTUDIA) Inauguration & Career Development Workshop

The Faculty of Education held an inauguration ceremony for the newly elected Education Students Association (ESTUDIA) members followed by a Career Development Workshop with Ir. Ahmad Syafiq, Msc, PhD (Universitas Indonesia) on April 10, 2023.

Faculty of Education UIII x Deakin University Joint Lecture Series 2

The Faculty of Education UIII held its second webinar with Deakin University on May 23, 2023 with the topics:

  • ‘Literacy instructions in Indonesian primary classrooms’ by Tati D. Wardi, PhD (Head of MA in Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia)

  • ‘Use of immersive technologies in Initial Teacher Education courses’ by Dr Maria Nicolas (Senior Lecturer in Education, Deakin University & Associate Investigator at the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence for the Digital Chil)


This session was moderated by Assoc Prof. Wanty Widjaja, Associate Head of School (International & Engagement), Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University.

The 2nd Faculty of Education Annual Conference 2023

The 2nd Faculty of Education Annual Conference 2023 was held on May 30-31, 2023 with a major theme “Educational Policy and Management in the Muslim Societies: Addressing contemporary issues on administration in education to move forward”.


Keynote Speakers:

  • Dr. Saeeda Shah (University of Leicester, UK) “Educational Leadership and Islam: impact of a belief system on conceptualizations and practices”

  • Agus Mutohar PhD (Universitas Islam Negeri Walisongo, Semarang) “Socially and religiously relevant Islamic school leadership in Indonesia”

  • Abdullah Sahin, PhD (University of Warwick, UK) “Authoritarian Educational Leadership and Modern Islamic Higher Learning Institutions: Can educational values of prophetic transformation and democratic inclusion be reconciled?”

Scholar-in-Residence (SIR) Batch 2 Year 2023

The Faculty of Education welcomes Dr. Sri Widyastri as the third SIR Fellow in Scholar in Residence Batch 2 (April-June 2023).

MA Batch 2 Visit to Bappenas and Madania School

On May 29, 2023, MA students Batch 2 visited Bappenas as part of a study visit for the Education and Society and Educational Policy Analysis courses. The visit was led by Dr. Lukman Nul Hakim (lecturer of Educational Policy Analysis) and received by Amich Alhumami, PhD, the Deputy for Human Development, Society, and Culture at Bappenas, who also teaches the Education and Society course.

On June 16, 2023, MA students Batch 2 visited Madania School as an initial step of the internship program collaboration that will be taken for the Independent Study course.

Three Best Students Reward

to Deakin University

The three best students of MA in Education Batch 1: Dhian Sintapertiwi, Asep Ropiudin and Supriyono, spent two weeks in Deakin University as a Research Student to observe and participate in the Research for Educational Impact (REDI) research centre activities, give presentations of their working thesis, and collaborate with the University academicians to undertake research for their thesis, as their reward for being the best students.

Students’ Community Service: English Conversation Training

Eleven MA Students Batch 2, supervised by Dr. Destina Wahyu Winarti, organized English conversation training to 40 middle school students at Pesantren Cendekia Amanah on May 11, 2023.

To promote the Faculty of Education, attract more prospective Masters and Doctoral students, and discuss potential collaboration with other universities and institutions, the Faculty of Education UIII visited universities and institutions in Indonesia.
